News from Stromgarde

While as the Northern Bulwark has been on a break due to low funding, it is once more back with news from and beyond Stromgarde! Here under you will be reading small newsfeeds of the past time since the latest paper.

The Thar is back! – As unbelieveable as it is, he has returned. How or why none of us know, however the Shar seem very happy and positive about the matter. A nasty breakup between the Shar and Nygarth Thorgint took place, and word has it that Thorgint now resides in Stormwind as a beggar and drunk. We contacted the Shar regarding a comment on the matter:

“It’s a shame this had to happen. Nygarth has a lot of things to keep his honor up for, such as his family and his daughter. However it seem this did not matter to him at all..”

The Thar been seen within Stromgarde, and even in the Barrens during the campaign. However he remains weak for now and thus mostly rests with the Shar at their farmhouse.

The Rhan’s change! – It is no secret our Rhan has been quite loose in the past, and not really bothering a lot about honor and respect towards women. However, once he came back the last time from a trip of “soul-searching” he has been quite different. It appears our Rhan has finally grown up to become a proud and honorable man. He was engaged to marry with miss Adenah Thorgint, however the engagment was broken as Adenah cheated with another man during the Barrens campaign. This seemed to also of woken the Rhan up to realize how he had hurt people in the past with his actions. During said campaign, the Rhan met with his childhood friend and also past love, Julia Angelos. Our Rhan seemed to wish to apologize and make up for his poor behavior towards the girl, and they ended up a couple once more! The Rhan is now expected to become a father at the end of this year or beginning of the next year.

The Dank’thar situation – Stromgarde has had some trouble for quite some time to find a dedicated and proper Dank’thar. Late Dank’thar Elegost was rarely if ever to be seen, and did not uphold his training duties towards his recruits. Our Shar then made Faralan Thorgint Dank’thar, something which proved to be a rather poor choice due to his dishonorable behavior and powerhungering nature. However, Stromgarde has now finally received a really good Dank’thar to lead it’s troops. Eodan Haidren, “Steedsmane” is most likely our times most dedicated and caring Dank’thar, and does his very best to aid and train the troops. He also has great leading qualities and commands the army at war with near perfection. We hope to see “Steedsmane” remain Dank’thar for many years to come!

A secret management? – Rumor has it a secret management has been created on the initiative of the Shar. The Northern Bulwark has no more information regarding the matter, however we do believe it is an initiative that goes beyond the borders of Stromgarde. We will keep you, the citizens of Stromgarde, updated on the matter!

Northern Alliance – The old Northern Alliance between Stromgarde, Remnants of Lordaeron and Ironforge seem to be at works again. The Shar has called for a meeting with Lordaeronians, Wildhammers and Gilneans to get the Alliance up on it’s feet once more, to establish trade routes and bonds for times of war. First meeting is said to take place the 27:th of June.

First weekly meeting

With the return to Arathi Highlands, Queen Saihna initiated what will be a weekly meeting with prominent members of the nation and army. This meeting is to take place every Sunday at eight bell past sundown. Although the first meeting was short, a chocking decision was revealed by Queen Saihna. After getting updated with what people were currently doing, she asked for young Timna Thorgint to step forward from the crowd. Asking her father some questions regarding her training, Saihna then promoted Timna the nations new Dortola (which to those that does not know Ancient Arathorian, translates to Spymistress). Considering young Timnas age this was indeed both a chock and a great honor, and we can only wait and see if young Timna will be ready for the responsibility it takes. Queen Saihna commented that she has faith in the new Dortola, and is confident she’ll do well and grow with her new role.

Dawnweaver Honour Questioned

The Northern Bulwark has learned that an exile of the Kingdom of Arathor has been detained within the region of Alterac Mountains the former Atir Magan Theonar Dawnweaver was planning to ambush a mage which turned out to be Lilath Taylen who was accompanied by General Geldar and his agents.

Theonar Dawnweaver was companied by a demon which was dismissed at the scene as Lilath Taylen began to question the former Minister of Stormwind it is understood that he was shot by agents of Angelos in both knees in order to cripple any escape plan.

Theonar Dawnweaver is wanted for High Treason against the Alliance after breaching the conditions imposed by General Geldar Angelos when he was first brought back to Stormwind. After contacting the Ministry of Magic in Stormwind the new Minister arrived at Hillsbrad to collect Theonar Dawnweaver, he was last seen being escorted to the Vault, the highest prison in Stormwind for Magi and Demons, we were not allowed access inside and no further statements were given by ministers of Stormwind. It is understood Theonar Dawnweaver is likely to be executed publicly within the month.

We have also heard of breaking news from Ironforge where it is apparent Elegost Dawnweaver is also in prison, the Dwarven Kingdom had named him a traitor after the battle of Alterac, he was arrested in the Dwarven Embassy in Stormwind. Tensions rise as many protest against such an arrest, Elegost will stand trial in the Dwarven Kingdom.

We can not know for sure if both brothers were working together at any stage but both arrests happened within days of each other, has the Dawnweavers lost all sense of honour? can they be trusted? We can confirm no sightings of the other Dawnweavers in the last two months but the question is, are they all corrupt traitors?

Stormwind Shooting!

This evening during the rather hilarious, themed night at the Smoking Blade Bar in Stormwinds Dwarven District, in which the males wore dresses and the females suits, something a little less than festive happened to the shock of many.

Despite the abundance of ‘Blazing Shield’ guardsmen scouring the area for an unknown reason, the Minister of Trade Lilath Northlight was shot by a hidden assassin! Thankfully she was at the time flirting with our now, single, Orin Nygarth Thorgint whom was donning a pure white wedding dress for the night’s theme. The Orin instictively jumped into action and I am informed did his utmost to heal the Minister, remove the bullet and keep her alive.

He succeeded! Last sighted with a guard escort carrying the limp, but surviving, body of the Minister out of the Smoking Blade towards her home in the City. Needless to say, that white dress wasn’t white anymore.

As he walked away, he has this to say to your reporter;

“I don’t kno’ who did it, I don’t kno’ why, I don’t kno’ really care ‘slong as Lil’s alive an’ well. Which she is”

The Orin may not know who shot the dear Minister, but this paper knows that he was caught but that is all that’s being released on the matter. Stormwind is never without it’s drama!

General Tate murdered!

Some days ago, General Joanne Tate of Arathi was set in charge of looking after Princess Anaei’s children, Arador, and the adoptive daughter Shayla. Most of the City-guards were out on patrol with Elegost Dawnweaver, as the City was invaded by two lone cultists. Somehow managing to climb up the wall, they made their way into the Chapel through a window, where Joanne was caring for the children. Alone, Joanne tried to defend the children, alas even when the Princess came to aid herself they were overwhelmed. Joanne was impaled by a sword through her chest and soon passed away. Rumor has it that the cultists raised her as their ghoul right after, and that the Princess herself later had to put Joanne out of her misery. Funeral arrangements will be announced on a later date, as will any other updates regarding this issue.

Arathi to recieve a new royal pet

The Northern Bulwark late last night got word that the Queen of our nation, Her highness queen Trollbane was malformed by what was rumoured to be by magical means outside the city wall.

She was brought in by now Ex-Minister of Magic Theonar Dawnweaver also rumoured for fathering one of the Demoness’ Ireth children with the transformed Trollbane following behind in the form of a baby raptor native to the highlands outside our walls.

It is unknown as of now how this strange event had even occurred as rumour has it there was trespassers at fault somewhere in the highlands who ambushed the queen and turned her into what she is now. The identities of the attackers are unknown as of currently however so far it is clear at least one was a magi to even commit such. There are also rumours that the Magi Theonar did this himself in some bid for political amusement or wickedness with his now tainted background of fathering a fel-spawn of the twisted witch. How far will Magi Dawnweaver go?

We asked several citizens on their thoughts of this.

“The queen being a raptor would mean her intelligence has gone down the ogre pipe surely, meaning we will see civil strife if her subjects are not there to control such!” commented a farmer.

“Mr Dawnweaver, the magi is at fault for this. He intends to overthrow the rule starting with the queen herself! Who knows what he has in mind for the rest of the family and line now that he is going to father a demon!” commented a stone mason.

As we can make out the queen has no cure to her condition yet and will be remaining in her form until magic is conjured to nullify her condition. For the status of Magi Dawnweaver however there appears to be rumours of an uprising in the background due to believers of the truth on the Tuesday past learnt.

Our advice to you Mr Dawnweaver is to hope your portal stones are not on short supply.

Council rocked by Arathorian Ministers Affairs

The Northern Bulwark today witnessed pure shock within Stormwind’s city council after a demoness appeared with a secret.

It began like any other council meeting, but after the public had finished the demoness known as ‘Ireth’ appeared in an image form, the public gasped in shock as she revealed she was pregnant with the child of Stormwind’s Minister of Magic and Arathor’s Atir Magan, Theonar Dawnweaver, son of the renowned Arador Dawnweaver.

The council room fel silent as all eyes were directed at the stunned minister who claims he had no clue of this child ever being conceived, could it really be a Magus of Stormwind’s nobility slept with a demon?

This is not unheard of, only fifteen years ago a ranger of Elywnn Forest was discovered to have slept with a lesser demoness, what is it about these creatures of the nether that makes them attractive? We asked the experts…

Arch Mage Randolph of Stormwind explained what drives people to these measures, ‘ Demons come in various shapes and forms, the most common demon to attract men is the succubus, known for seducing men with its powers, now it is rare for demons to become pregnant and little is known about ‘Ireth’ so we can not yet know for sure if this was a magical mix up, or a love affair.’

The Northern Bulwark trailed Theonar Dawnweaver this evening and discovered he has resigned from the city council and has begun to pack his things claiming he leaves for the Arathi capital Stromgarde Keep, he has also provided this exclusive statement to the Northern Bulwark ‘I have said it again and again to over fifteen different reporters, I have not slept with ‘Ireth’ this is the result of a magical energy mix and manipulation from Ireth her self and I have no control over it, I plan to leave and head home to Stromgarde to see my brother’s, then I will decide what to do about the situation but it is clear I can no longer perform my duty’s in Stormwind therefore I have resigned to spare the council from accusations from the public, It is unclear if I will be allowed to remain in Arathi at this stage.’

The Stormwind Council have made no comments on the situation nor Theonar’s resignation.

We want to hear what you think, contact one of our reporters for the chance to have your say on the subject.

The Senate on the brink of betraying the Alliance?

Once again the Senate has proven their hostilities and unwillingness to aid and bond with the Alliance as a whole. A War-Council meeting was summoned, Thursday the 15/4, and with that representatives were invited, amongst those the Princess of Arathor, and also Diplomat and Ambassador, Anaei Trollbane. But even though being a Diplomat and with that having immunity to law, Lady Anaei was promptly removed from the building in which the meeting was to be held, namely in Loch Modan.

“It’s rather funny, just when I thought Gogol couldn’t become more corrupt he arrests the High Marshal Thunderbelly. I mean, ancestors above, how can the Alliance not call for High Treason and War Crimes in a tribunal?!” commented the Princess.

When will this madness from the Senate and it’s corrupt leaders stop? When will Ironforges citizens stand up to it and say no more? And most importantly, when will Magni himself throw the Senate out? Surely Magni would see that the Senate is risking Ironforges relations with the Alliance, and should said relations completely shatter, Ironforge may well be doomed.

Least to say, an resolution does not seem to be anywhere to be seen at this point.

An attempt on the Shar’s life

The public of the Arathorian Kingdom should be on the alert to a new threat within the Highlands. An assassin has been seen who had admitted to plotting an attempt on the Shar’s life in Stromgarde Keep Arathi, this assassin is a human Deathknight after background checks this paper could not determine his allegiances.

The assassin spoke to Theonar Dawnweaver who issued a warning within the hour to the Shar who is now in the City of Dalaran. Officials of Dalaran issued the following statement; ‘ The Kirin Tor’s city of Dalaran is a place of security and safety for those who need it, The Shar of Arathor stated to Theonar that she will remain in the city until Tuesday. We have arranged for magi to trail the Shar in the city due to the horde who also share the city. However we will not permit any of our magi to arrest this suspected Deathknight outside of the city unless magic is used’

Theonar Dawnweaver has issued this description; A human male Deathknight who appears very undereducated in many ways, he will be driving a chopper and should arrive within the week to Arathi’

We will keep you up-to-date as this story develops

A Chairlady’s Message

The Northern Bulwark was asked to display a message from Chairlady Mandui, regarding what has been going on during this last week or so. This is the message the Chairlady wished to pass to the people possibly reading this newspaper:

After the recent events, of which most of you are aware, I feel compelled to utter a few thoughts.
Despite my efforts to fulfill my duties as efficiently as possible in the past three years, and with no other reason than the irrational distrust and prejudice towards my personal beliefs, certain people have expressed the desire for my removal from the city’s Council.

It seems that in my case, no evidence for a crime is required in order to have me arrested and locked away for almost a week. In addition, no evidence was ever brought forth regarding any of the accusations, which suggested my involvement into dealings with the Horde, along with some sort of prohibited use of magic, illegal rituals and other kinds of blasphemous actions. Upon my inquiry as to why I’m being forced in a cell and why I am expected to abandon my position within the Council, the only answer I received was the use of shadow magic.

Evidently, the ignorance is creeping within the people’s minds and is spreading like a disease. Most members of the Alliance think that it should be a bastion of virtue and righteousness at its very core. This should be the case to a certain extend. No foul means are to be used, such as demonic or necromantic powers, for they corrupt and eventually consume the wielder; not to mention the atrocities they demand in order to have any effects, such as raising the dead and sacrificing the living. In the contrary, arcane magic, and even the destructive powers granted by the Light itself, are accepted.

Why are not our paladins accused for smiting down foes, by calling upon the Light to cause their anguish and death? Why are not our magi accused for scorching enemies, by calling upon the Arcane and setting their flesh ablaze to burn them to ash? Is the Light or the Arcane not as destructive as the Shadow can be? Can they not corrupt?
We all know the answer to this. Many of us have witnessed fallen paladins and crazed magi. Yet, amongst the numerous magic wielders in the King’s lands, shadow wielders are the sole target of those accusations, for the weapon they use to slay those who oppose the Alliance is neither the Light nor the Arcane.

Shadow magic seems to attract a lot of negative attention and an immediate condemnation, compared to the rest of the accepted schools of magic mentioned above. The only reason for this, is the shadow’s use by warlocks, demons and the scourge, all of which the Alliance is fighting against. But doesn’t the Horde, one of the most hated enemies of the Alliance, use the Light as well? Would this be reason enough to condemn it, just because it serves the enemy?
What I speak of here is not supposed to be something which only people with a high magic understanding or knowledge should be able to comprehend. What I speak of here is easily grasped with common sense.

I call upon both the Light and the Shadow; I accept both sides of the same coin, without disrespecting any of the two. I do not follow the Shadow as a religion. The forsaken and the cult they established are not of any interest to me, mainly because it focuses greatly on one side more than the other.

A Draenei willing to serve the city of Stormwind by offering a millennia of knowledge, greater than any human can acquire within a lifetime, should not be seen as a threat, only because she strives to preserve the delicate balance between the light and the shade. What people should truly be suspicious of is fanaticism. That occurs when one is drawn so deep down into an ideal, a belief or a religion, that they lose their ability to see with the eyes of reason. Such people can indeed be dangerous, regardless of their faction. Such people are to be seen as a threat. It is those who defy reason and are willing to commit crimes in order to reach their twisted goals.

We should stop pointing fingers at each other out of unreasonable fear and foolish prejudice. There are enough and much greater evils which threaten the Alliance. The need for unity is essential if we are to deal with those effectively.
